Songwriter Showcase at Natalie’s is the area’s original and premier songwriter round, featuring only the finest professional singer-songwriters in the region and nation. Every 2nd and 4th Thursday. EMILY KEENER is a young girl with an old soul. Age 15 (yes, 15!), she writes and performs music that springs from a place of beauty and pure emotion. Based in Cleveland, she plays the six-string acoustic guitar with a folksy, nostalgic groove. Her second studio album, “East of the Sun,” is slated for release in 2015. She has composed more than 60 songs, and has also released two EPs. She collaborates frequently with the Womack Family Band. emilykeener.com
RICK GOOD has been writing songs for nearly 50 years. A founding member of The Hotmud Family, a 24-year veteran of Rhythm in Shoes, and a 2010 Ohio Heritage Fellow, Rick is recognized and respected for his driving banjo, swinging guitar, heartfelt singing and crafty songwriting. With his wife and long-time collaborator, Sharon Leahy, he has made a life of creating critically acclaimed performance art, rooted in American traditions. JAMIE SAGLE is a singer-songwriter re-emerging onto the local scene with her indie-folk inspired writing. After gaining the attention of local radio several years ago, she set aside her music to raise her two children. She has reconciled the balance of being a mother, wife, and songwriter. Reflecting her life experiences, her songs merge insightful lyrics with appealing melodies, delivered with power and energy. Among Jamie’s influences are Stevie Nicks, Alanis Morisette, Sheryl Crow, and Regina Spektor.
Host ERIC GNEZDA weaves his music, humor and stories into concerts that entertain and inspire. He performs regularly at Nashville’s Bluebird Café, and was awarded the Ohioana Citation for Music Composition. Nominated for an Emmy award as a TV producer, Eric and his music have been featured on NPR, ESPN, The Canadian Broadcasting Corp, and the ABC Radio Network. In addition to Songwriter Showcase at Natalie’s, Eric is the host and co-creator of TV’s Songs at the Center, featuring the region’s most accomplished songwriters.
